S. ILavazhagi, a Scheduled Classes, who won women’s title in 5th World Carrom Championship held in France in 2008 and 2010. She also won the 2006 and 2010 World Cup. She hails from Vyasarpadi, North Chennai. Her father Irudayaraj who drives a motorized fish cart and supports the family with his mere income and mother Selvi, a homemaker. Tamil Nadu has produced four world champions. Of the four, three are from Scheduled Classes including her.
