Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and OBCs Reservation |
I consider V.P. Singh as one among the two best Prime Minister has had India ever produced. Both the vision of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and Periyar E.V. Ramasamy were confirmed by V. P. Singh. It was because of V. P. Singh in 1990, the SHUDRAS (Other Backward Class i,e OBC) are getting their Representation (to others it means Quota or Reservation) about 27% at the Central level by implementing the Mandal commission report.
Both Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and Periyar E.V. Ramasamy were fought for the Representation of the OBCs to be included in the Indian Constitution. First amendment Act of the Indian Constitution, Article 340 in 1950, granted reservation rights to OBC’s. Due to the indifferent of Jawaharlal Nehru cabinet on Article 340 which specifies the rights of OBC, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar tendered his resignation from the Independent India’s first Law Minister on September 27, 1951. He mentioned various reasons in his resignation statement. One of the reasons he had dissatisfied with the Government which it related over the neglect and the treatment accorded to the Other Backward Class (not appointing the Commission for the Other Backward Class) and the Scheduled Class.
